University of Wisconsin Medical School

Study:       The UW Research team aimed to find out if extract from pomegranates would not only kill existing cancer in the prostate, but also help prevent cancer starting or progressing.

 Findings:    Using human prostate cancer cells, the team found that the higher the dose of Pomegranate extract that the cells received, the more cells died.

Rambam Medical Center, Haifa Israel

Study:         To determine if pomegranate juice could protect LDL against oxidation.

Findings:     The study suggested that consumption of pomegranate juice protects LDL against oxidation, which is thought to speed up the hardening of the arteries.

Case Western Reserve University

Study:          To determine if pomegranate extract would help alleviate arthritis by blocking inflammatory enzymes.
